Congratulations to Mr. Hildebrand and our Art students who placed at the TVL Art Contest! Students brought home a total of 37 awards for their efforts. Hanna Bott, Brooke Beier and Emily Weiche teamed up to win the Ceiling Tile contest which is one of the events that is also a part of the contest. A complete list of results has been submitted to the paper by Mr. Hildebrand so be on the lookout for that information. The contest was hosted on March 30th by Hanover.
Our junior high track squads participated in their very first track meet of the season at Washington County on March 31st. Considering that the conditions were less than ideal (cold and windy) our Bulldogs really had a great meet with several first place individual finishes. Team wise our 8th grade girls were 7th out of 10 teams and the 8th grade boys finished 3rd overall. The 7th grade girls also finished 3rd overall and the 7th boys placed 6th out of 10 teams. Keep up the hard work Bulldogs!
We had a great time at the 3rd annual Linn A’Lympics which is the way we recognize our spring athletes. Coach Miller, Coach Thalmann and Coach Zabokrtsky introduced our track and golf athletes and then our audience members got to participate in games to win prizes. They had different age groups all competing in the gym dash, a putting contest, and the standing long jump. I would like to personally thank Bulldog Backers for providing refreshments at the end of the evening to honor my years of service here at Linn Schools and I greatly appreciate their thoughts and actions. It has been great to work with all of you as we support our Bulldogs in their efforts!
Prom is now the next big event on the calendar with that event slated for April 23rd. The junior class and their sponsors have been working hard all year to prepare for this event and I am sure it will be a fun evening for everyone. We will begin our night with the annual Prom Walk and we would like to invite the public to this part of the evening. We will introduce our attendees and give everyone the chance to see the Prom fashions and take pictures. Prom Walk will start at 6:30 pm. The banquet for staff, students and guests will start at 7:30 pm and the dance will run from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm with the After Prom Party to follow. We want to wish all of the sponsors and students the very best as they prepare for the biggest social event of the year!
It is great to be a Bulldog!
