The USD 223 Board of Education is very proud to announce that the Kansas State Department of Education has presented the Governor’s Achievement Award for the 2010-2011 school year to Linn Elementary School and Hanover High School. This is the sixth consecutive year Hanover High School has received this prestigious award and the second time for Linn Elementary School.
The Governor’s Achievement Award honors top performing schools in the State of Kansas for achieving the Building Level Standard of Excellence in both Reading and Mathematics, meeting all requirements of Annual Yearly Progress including graduation rate, and for being in the top 5% of all Kansas high schools in both Reading and Mathematics on the 2011 state assessments.
Only eighteen high schools and forty-three elementary schools across the State of Kansas qualified for this prestigious award.
“The Governor’s Achievement Award is further recognition of USD 223’s continuing exemplary academic performance which ranks our students, faculty and staff not only among the top performing in the Northeast Kansas region, but in the entire State of Kansas.”
We are very proud of Linn Elementary School and Hanover High School and its outstanding achievement. The Board of Education knows this award would not be possible without the hard work of highly qualified teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, administrators, students, and parents.
