Now that all of the football games are over in Kansas, I can now release the names of our football players that made the Twin Valley All-League football teams. Making first team on offense was Ethan Diederich as a running back. Ethan was also chosen as 1st team linebacker on defense along with teamates Brent Bruna as a defensive back and Reid Blackburn as a punter. Selected for the second team were: Reid Blackburn on offense as a tight end and on defense as a linebacker. Logan Bruna was selected second team defensive lineman.
Last Wednesday, we were able to send sacks of non-perishable food items to 19 families in Hanover. The food was collected at the faculty-senior volleyball game the week before. Over 200 pounds of food was collected. I want to thank all that participated and those that attended. I hope we were able to make Thanksgiving a little more enjoyable for those familes.
The Hanover Attendace Center Christmas Concert will be held next Thursday, December 8th at 7:00 PM in the HAC gym. The concert will feature the high school choir and band as well as all K-4 students who will perform a short musical. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend. The 5th & 6th grade students will have a concert in February.
The annual book fair will also be held next Thursday before and after the concert. Parents and patrons will be able to choose from a large selection of books, posters, and other items that may make great stocking stuffers. A list of books from our teacher’s “wish list” will also be available for those who would like to purchase books for our classrooms to use as well. Students will have the opportunity to look through the book fair selections and create their own wish list for their parents and grandparents to consider.
We welcome back Mr. Gregory this week from his three weeks of training for the Air Force. Mr. Gregory will be gone for another three weeks next March for more training. We want to thank Mr. Gregory for his continued service to our country.
Our FBLA students recently competed in the Fall Round National Virtual Bussiness Challenge. There were 269 teams competing and the ranking were based on total profit made during one fiscal year in a simulated distribution company. MAC Enterprises came in 30th in the nation. Team members are Cody Nieman, Mark Zarybnicky, and Austin Jueneman. Placing 35th was HKB Enterprises with team members Heather Moore, Kent Bruna, and Brandon Jueneman. Team members Katie Gerard, Logan Bruna, and Reid Blackburn placed 80th with KLR Enterprises. Placing 88th were team members Abby Richter, Emily Jensen, and Justin Schroller with AEJ Enterprises. Coming in 124th was EDM Enterprises with team members Wade Steinfort and Dennis Kruse. Overall rankings for Kansas teams was MAC Enterprises placing 3rd, HKB Enterprises placing 5th, KLR Enterprises placing 7th, AEJ Enterprises placing 9th, and WEM Enterprises placing 10th. Teams from Kansas, California, Wyoming, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, Missouri, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Georgia, New York, Ohio, Nebraska, Illinois, South Carolina, Iowa, Oregon, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, and Utah competed in the event. It is again worth noting that our students are competing against schools that are much larger than we are including Blue Valley North and Andover. We may be small, but we are mighty. Congratulations to our students on a terrific job.
