USD 223 Awarded $139,973 Grant to Modernize Agriculture Metal Shops
USD 223 is proud to announce that the district has been awarded a grant in the amount of $139,973 to modernize and enhance the schools’ Agriculture Metal Shops. These funds will be used to purchase updated tools and equipment including welders, CNC plasma cutters, a crane, bandsaw, and a new ventilation system to ultimately improve the functionality and safety of district's shops.
This investment will provide students with hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment, preparing them for future careers in agriculture, metal fabrication, and related technical fields. By modernizing the shop, students will gain valuable skills that are directly applicable to local workforce needs, ensuring they are career-ready upon graduation.
We are grateful for this support, which will not only strengthen our Career and Technical Education programs but also benefit our community by developing the next generation of skilled workers. This project is supported in part by a 2025 grant from The Patterson Family Foundation.
