Dear Families,
As we approach the midpoint of October, there are several important announcements and events that I would like to bring to your attention.
Firstly, I would like to inform you that on October 13th, our school will dismiss at 11:30. This early dismissal is necessary for staff professional development and training, which will greatly benefit our students' education.
Next, mark your calendars for October 14th, that is the day of the TVL Volleyball tournament at Washington. Our talented athletes have been practicing tirelessly, and it promises to be an exciting event. Your support and cheering from the stands would mean the world to our players.
Furthermore, on October 19th, we will have an early dismissal at 12:00. This is in preparation for our Parent Teacher conferences, which will take place from 12:30 to 8:00. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for you to discuss your child's progress and goals with their teachers. We highly encourage your participation and appreciate your commitment to your child's education.
Please note that there will be no school on October 20th. This day off will give our students and staff a well-deserved break before we continue our learning journey.
I would also like to take a moment to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two exceptional students from our school. Congratulations to Caylee Bruna and Cam Jensen for receiving the Kindness Award this past week. They were nominated for this award because of their selfless act of helping Miss Katy clean the muddy bathrooms at the football field. Their kindness and willingness to lend a hand truly exemplify the values we strive to instill in our students. Let's give them a round of applause!
Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude to all our families for your continued partnership and support. Your involvement and dedication play a crucial role in our students' success.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our staff members. Together, we can make this school year a remarkable one.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support.
Go Wildcats!

Come out Tuesday night and support the Hanover volleyball team!! This will be senior night as well as our pink out night! Wear pink to support breast cancer awareness month. We will also have the serve a senior where you will get a chance to serve at the seniors to win a 2 liter of pop! Hope to see you there!!!

1st and 2nd graders switched shoes with a partner and walked an obstacle course. They learned that it isn't always easy to "walk in someone else's shoes." It's important that we show kindness to everyone!
3rd and 4th graders were each given a paper person that represented themselves. They asked their partner to take care of their person and treat them with kindness. The partner was actually a bully to the paper person. Each time they said a mean thing they crumpled the person. Then, they told the person sorry and tried to smooth out the wrinkles. The class learned that those mean comments have a lasting impact on a person and don't just smooth out.

For our final day of National Bullying Prevention Week, PreK-6th grades wore "I Pledge to Stop Bullying" stickers to signify what they've learned this week.
Ashlynn Bonser was the winner of the "find the picture of a bully" scavenger hunt!
Brigham Bruna read a message about bullying prevention everyday this week.

"Cool to be Kind" was our message today for Bullying Prevention Week. The junior class passed out ice cream to all the students and staff.
The Kindergarten class read Chrysanthemum with the help of a few seniors. For every mean comment in the book, the kindergartners put a crease in their heart. For every nice comment, the kindergartners tried to smooth out the crease. We discussed how those comments leave a lasting imprint on our heart and the importance of using kind words. 💙♥️

Good luck to our JH FB and VB teams as they travel to Clifton tonight. The volleyball games will start at 5:00 and the football game will kickoff at 6:30.
Volleyball games will be streamed.
Good luck!
October 1-7 is Fall Sports Officials Appreciation week. We had two long standing officials for our Tuesday night triangular. Thank you to Max Olsen and Karl Kliewer and all the fall sports officials.

"Everyday Heroes" was the theme today for National Bullying Prevention Week. PreK-6 grades enjoyed presentations from firefighters, the school nurse, the ambulance service, and the sheriff's department. Ask the students about walking through the ambulance and fire truck!

The HHS Graphic Design Class has started talking about what "Soft Skills" are, and what soft skills most employers are looking for in any profession. Today's post gives the definition of soft skills.

Put the "I" in KIND. PreK-12 grades signed their name to the letter I to promote kindness on Tuesday for Bullying Prevention Week.
Seniors helped the Jr. High classes discuss where bullying takes place, what bullying looks like, and how to stop bullying.

Monday kicked off National Bullying Prevention week. Students wore blue shirts in honor of World Bullying Prevention Day. Prizes were given out to a few lucky winners! The 5th and 6th grade were given a classmate's name to write a kind attribute for each letter of that student's name.

Today is National Custodians day. I want recognize our terrific custodians who do so much for our students and school. Thank you very much Miss Katie and Miss Andrea, you two are the best!
Dear families,
I hope this letter finds you well. As we dive into the fall season, I wanted to take a moment to update you on some important announcements and celebrate the achievements of our students.
First and foremost, I am thrilled to share the exciting news about the upgrades we have received at the Football Complex. Thanks to the hard work of Inline Construction, we now have a beautiful platform in front of the crows nest. This new addition provides a fantastic viewing area to enjoy watching our football games. I encourage you all to come and experience it for yourselves this Friday versus Axtell!
I also wanted to remind you that on October 13th, we will have an 11:30 dismissal for students. This is to ensure that our teachers have ample time to prepare for the upcoming parent-teacher conferences, which will take place on October 19th, starting at 12:30. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for us to discuss your child's progress and set goals for their academic success. Please mark your calendars and make arrangements to attend.
In addition, I want to inform you that there will be no school on October 20th. This day will also serve as Senior Night for our football game against Frankfort. It will be a special evening honoring our senior players and their contributions to our team. We hope to see you there, cheering on our athletes and celebrating their achievements.
Now, let's take a moment to celebrate the accomplishments of our students. I am delighted to announce that Garrett Martin has been awarded the Kindness Award for the week. Garrett consistently demonstrates a kind and helpful attitude, always willing to lend a hand to his peers and teachers. We commend him for his exemplary behavior and encourage all our students to follow his example.
Lastly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our families for your continued partnership. Your support and involvement play a crucial role in creating a positive learning environment for our students. We appreciate your dedication to their education and look forward to working together throughout the school year.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter, and have a wonderful week ahead!
