CONGRATULATIONS SENIORS!!!!

This morning, our Seniors crushed it during our Apply Kansas event! Every single senior took a big step toward their future by completing at least one college application or job application!

We are so proud of their hard work, determination, and excitement for what’s ahead. The future is bright, and this is just the beginning.

As part of their ecology unit, the Freshmen immersed themselves in our native habit, the tall grass prairie, with the help of the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Konza Prairie Biological Station. This habitat which once covered 170 million acres, has been reduced to less than 4% of its original size, most of which is in our Flint Hills region. While at Konza, students conducted grass surveys in upland and lowland areas in order to learn about native grasses, and specifically examine the effects of water on the prairie. They then took a docent guided hike around Butterfly Hill learning about native plants, animals, limestone, and human impact on the prairie.
