We are planning to begin Covid antigen testing in the morning, Monday, August 30, at 7:30 am.
This is for any students who have been quarantined for a possible Covid exposure.
Procedures:
1. Parents drive up to the testing area at LINN Schools near the stage door.
2.Remain in your vehicle.
3. Complete the information form given.
4. Student’s nose will be swabbed by Nurse Jeri.
5. Students and Parents will remain in their car until the results are available. It takes at least 15 minutes for the results.
6. Results:
You will be notified once the results are available.
If the results are:
Negative: student may come into school building wearing a mask for the day.
Positive: we advise the parent to take their child to receive a PCR Covid test.
Tests are repeated daily for any students within their ten days of quarantine. When the students’ 10 days of quarantine are complete they are no longer required to receive a negative test and wear a mask to attend school.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact the school principal, Kathy Locke, @ 785-209-0620.

Parents: On August 31st, students who are 12 years of age and up will be given the option to receive their first dose of the Covid Vaccination. Students will be sent home with a parental consent form to sign and return Monday. Parents we encourage you to discuss this option with your child, this is a personal decision to make as a family. As a reminder, district policy states: "Educational options for close contact: If your child is vaccinated and not showing symptoms, they may remain in school with a mask without testing." Please contact the school as soon as you can to sign your child up.

This is dedication!

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has become inundated with applications for in school covid testing. They are unable to process and certify districts to give the Covid antigen testing as quickly as originally anticipated.
Therefore, we will are not able to offer antigen testing at this time.
Kindergarten and any students quarantined due to close contact exposure to Covid will not be able to attend school for ten days from the day quarantined unless you bring in a negative test results each day of the quarantine.
As soon as we are certified and have our certification in hand we will let you know.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate these changing times.
