The 2024 FFA Chicken BBQ was a success! The FFA wants to extend a huge thank you to the parents who came out to help make our event run smoothly. Thank you to Mark and Jodie Bruna, Chris Bruna, Brian Sinn, Jacob Hynek, Anita and Lloyd Green, and all of the other parents who stopped by to lend a hand when needed.
We also want to thank our community members who supported us last night through purchasing meals and donating to our chapter. This year we started a new system with pre-orders and how we filled orders. There were some hiccups, but you all were patient and gracious with us as we worked through them - we cannot thank you for that enough! We are already planning on improvements for next year. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please send those via email to hjohnson@usd223.org. We sold over 500 meals total and 1150 pieces of chicken. We will see you again next year! Come pick up your FFA BBQ and grab some dessert as well. The FBLA National Qualifiers will be hosting a Free Will Bake Sale Fundraiser tomorrow night from 4:30 - 7 in the cafeteria to help defray the costs of their trip to nationals in Orlando this summer.

Fairbury Elks Lodge #1203 held its Honors Banquet for local juniors and seniors on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Students from Hanover who were recognized included: Juniors (seated): Camron Jueneman and Hannah Zarybnicky
Seniors (standing): Katelyn Klipp, Ayden Olguin, Shaylee Schotte, and Hope White. Hope also received the Most Valuable Student award - 1st place
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We want thank our teachers who do so much more than teach and lead lessons. Our teachers support, mentor, coach, motivate, and care for our kids during the school day and beyond! Thank you for all you do!
The TVL golf meet scheduled for today has been postponed. We are looking at Friday as a possible makeup date.

Senior Send Off was this Wednesday in Linn. Students heard from a variety of speakers to prepare for life after high school. Students also had the opportunity to talk with students from Linn and Clifton/Clyde who also attend the event.
