Hanover Schools

Day 2 of State FFA Convention was long but we made it to two general sessions where we got to hear from many speakers including Justin McKee from the Cowboy Channel. We sat in on the state finals for Extemporaneous Speaking - then we got to watch the winner be announced at our evening session. To end the day we had a late night, all member event at the KSU Rec Center. Ignite the Night was filled with card games, sports, dodgeball, crafts, and food. Our members had a great time meeting other members from all across the state while making bracelets. We are ending our first day at FFA night at LEAP trampoline park with hundreds of other FFA members from throughout the state! Our girls 4x400 team placed 7th. They finished 5th at the state meet as a team. Great job by all!

Anna Jueneman state champion in the 400m with a time of 58.61! Gracie Bruna placed 8th. Anna placed 3rd in the 100m earlier in the day as well. Great job ladies!

Good luck to all of our state track competitors today. Anna and Gracie will start us off at 3:35 in the 400m prelims. Then they will both compete in 200m prelims at 5:15. Girls 4x400 prelims will run at 5:55. Gracie will triple jump at 6:30. Camron will jump tomorrow morning, and Tessa will throw tomorrow morning. Anna's 100m prelim is tomorrow at 8:30. State qualifiers: Individual Events Tessa Lohse - javelin Camron Jueneman - triple jump Gracie Bruna - 200m, 400m, triple jump Anna Jueneman - 100m, 200m, 400m Relay Team Girls 4x400 - Kennedy Cohorst, Drew Bruna, Gracie Bruna and Anna Jueneman Anna Jueneman broke her own school record with a 58.24 400m. Great job!

Great season by the golf team. Everyone shot their career best this season. Congratulations to Brigham who qualified for the state tournament next week in Hesston.

Kindergarten had a great time yesterday even though the rain changed our plans. First the stadium, then to the park for lunch. We even got to play a little before it started raining too hard. The zoo had to be cancelled but we made up for it with ice cream. Thank you Dan for driving and all the parents who went along.

The Regional golf meet scheduled for today has been postponed to tomorrow, May 14 at 11:00.

Great job by the golf team today. Team placed 4th in the TVL. Brigham medaled 6th and Maxwell Sawin medaled 10th. Regionals is Monday!

As we close this teacher appreciation week, I want to take a moment to recognize our teachers at Hanover and Linn Schools for all the hard work, dedication, and care they give to their students, families, and communities! Our teachers at USD 223 are simply amazing at what they do! We are very proud of our schools and their accomplishments which is largely due to the work and dedication of our teachers/staff and family support. Thank you also to the communities for your support of our schools, teachers and staff! It is only in working together that we can accomplish this tremendous task of educating our youth! Our 2023 state assessment scores and ACT scores are again among the highest in the state and I would expect a 2024 results to be the same! Congratulations to our seniors on their up coming graduations this Sunday. They are well prepared for post secondary life thanks to their hard work as well as that of our teachers, staff, coaches, families and the support of the respective communities!

Good luck to our track team as they go to Valley Heights today and compete in TVL track. The meet starts at 3:00! Good luck! Friday the golf team will compete at Valley Heights as well for TVL golf.
