Dear Families,
As we approach the midpoint of October, there are several important announcements and events that I would like to bring to your attention.
Firstly, I would like to inform you that on October 13th, our school will dismiss at 11:30. This early dismissal is necessary for staff professional development and training, which will greatly benefit our students' education.
Next, mark your calendars for October 14th, that is the day of the TVL Volleyball tournament at Washington. Our talented athletes have been practicing tirelessly, and it promises to be an exciting event. Your support and cheering from the stands would mean the world to our players.
Furthermore, on October 19th, we will have an early dismissal at 12:00. This is in preparation for our Parent Teacher conferences, which will take place from 12:30 to 8:00. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for you to discuss your child's progress and goals with their teachers. We highly encourage your participation and appreciate your commitment to your child's education.
Please note that there will be no school on October 20th. This day off will give our students and staff a well-deserved break before we continue our learning journey.
I would also like to take a moment to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two exceptional students from our school. Congratulations to Caylee Bruna and Cam Jensen for receiving the Kindness Award this past week. They were nominated for this award because of their selfless act of helping Miss Katy clean the muddy bathrooms at the football field. Their kindness and willingness to lend a hand truly exemplify the values we strive to instill in our students. Let's give them a round of applause!
Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude to all our families for your continued partnership and support. Your involvement and dedication play a crucial role in our students' success.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our staff members. Together, we can make this school year a remarkable one.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support.
Go Wildcats!
Cory Jensen
Principal

Come out Tuesday night and support the Hanover volleyball team!! This will be senior night as well as our pink out night! Wear pink to support breast cancer awareness month. We will also have the serve a senior where you will get a chance to serve at the seniors to win a 2 liter of pop! Hope to see you there!!!

1st and 2nd graders switched shoes with a partner and walked an obstacle course. They learned that it isn't always easy to "walk in someone else's shoes." It's important that we show kindness to everyone!
3rd and 4th graders were each given a paper person that represented themselves. They asked their partner to take care of their person and treat them with kindness. The partner was actually a bully to the paper person. Each time they said a mean thing they crumpled the person. Then, they told the person sorry and tried to smooth out the wrinkles. The class learned that those mean comments have a lasting impact on a person and don't just smooth out.

For our final day of National Bullying Prevention Week, PreK-6th grades wore "I Pledge to Stop Bullying" stickers to signify what they've learned this week.
Ashlynn Bonser was the winner of the "find the picture of a bully" scavenger hunt!
Brigham Bruna read a message about bullying prevention everyday this week.

"Cool to be Kind" was our message today for Bullying Prevention Week. The junior class passed out ice cream to all the students and staff.
The Kindergarten class read Chrysanthemum with the help of a few seniors. For every mean comment in the book, the kindergartners put a crease in their heart. For every nice comment, the kindergartners tried to smooth out the crease. We discussed how those comments leave a lasting imprint on our heart and the importance of using kind words. 💙♥️

Good luck to our JH FB and VB teams as they travel to Clifton tonight. The volleyball games will start at 5:00 and the football game will kickoff at 6:30.
Volleyball games will be streamed.
Good luck!

October 1-7 is Fall Sports Officials Appreciation week. We had two long standing officials for our Tuesday night triangular. Thank you to Max Olsen and Karl Kliewer and all the fall sports officials.
