Monday, October 19, are parent/teacher conference. Conferences start at 1:00 pm. Please enter through the main doors as everyone will need to have their temperature taken and masks are required.

Good News - The TVL has decided to reduce gate prices for the TVL tournament to $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for students.
Parents of Seniors,
I emailed the invite to the virtual financial aid meeting to the seniors. Please make sure they share it with you. It contains the Zoom link you need to join the meeting. The virtual financial aid meeting will be on October 28th at 7:00. Just click on the link to join the meeting. College Financial Aid officers will be available during the meeting to answer questions about filling out the FAFSA and other financial aid questions.
I shared information about completing the FAFSA and how to get a FSA ID with the seniors. Please make sure they show you this packet. You and your senior each need a FSA ID to fill out the FAFSA and you should get these FSA ID's as soon as possible. You do not have to wait until the Financial Aid meeting to complete the FAFSA. The packet I handed out to the seniors explains what to do. The meeting is for those that don't want to fill out the FAFSA on their own and those who have questions. Remember to get your FSA ID's right away.

4:30 - Linn JH vs. Washington Co at the high school
The winner will play Clifton Clyde at 6:30 pm at the high school.
The Championship game will be at 7:30 pm at the high school.
The 3rd/4th place game will be at 7:30 pm at St. John's
Admission prices - $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for students. League passes are NOT accepted.

Pay gates open at 8:00 am - those are located at the HS East Entrance and West Elementary Entrance.

The TVL Tournament will be held at Washington Co. High School tomorrow, (10-17). They are requiring admittance tickets. HS VB players will receive tickets 4 tickets each. We have additional 30 tickets available it you would like to attend. Please stop by the school today to pick up your ticket. Someone will be here in the office until 4 pm.
We will play games at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 am tomorrow. In our bracket is Centralia, Valley Heights and D-West.

Admission into Sub-State VB at Linn:
Following KSHSAA guidelines and COVID19 protocol, each team participating in the tournament has been given 40 vouchers to give out to individuals in their communities. For Linn, the priority for tickets will be the parents and then family members of girls on the sub-state roster. If you are going to come in person to watch sub-state VB, you MUST have a voucher or be on the pass gate list. Each adult, student or child (no matter the age) must have a voucher. If you do not have a voucher, you can watch online at YouTube Linn Bulldogslive Channel.

The Senior VB players from Washington Co. are asking the all fans where pink to the volleyball game on Oct 13th in remembrance of those who have or have had breast cancer. There is a special connection with this to their volleyball team and they would like to end their regular season with fans showing support for this cause, as many have been effected by breast cancer.
Parents of Seniors,
It is time to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (the FAFSA) The general thought is that the sooner the FAFSA is submitted the better the chance of receiving Federal Aid. You and your son or daughter will each need to create an FSA ID before you can complete the FAFSA. There are some videos that may be helpful as you prepare to complete the FAFSA. Please google: FAFSA and FSA ID Tips for Parents. Please watch these videos and get the FAFSA completed. There is help available for every question. You may also contact the Financial Aid Office of the school your child is going to attend.
If you feel you need more assistance, on October 28th at 6:00 Cloud County Community College will conduct a virtual Financial Aid Meeting via Zoom. I will send out a Personal Meeting ID which you can click on to join the meeting. Then if you have more specific questions, members of their staff will move you into Zoom Breakout Rooms for the one-on-one meeting option. Please let me know if you want to join the meeting and don't have internet connection. I can arrange for you to come to school and use the school's internet.
