Tonight at 7:00 pm, USD 223 is going to test our emergency contact system. This will go out over text, phone call and a push notification through our USD 223 app. If you have not downloaded the USD 223 app, please do so at this time. In the future, we will be using this system as a way of communicating with students, parents and the community. If you need help downloading the app, please contact Ms. Root for instructions and information. If you do not receive any notification after the testing time, please contact Ms. Root at the Linn School office.

Chronic absence is easily masked by school attendance statistics, even when average daily attendance appears relatively high. Even in a school with 95% daily attendance, 30% of the student population could be chronically absent. How is that possible? Find out: http://bit.ly/1oqfID7

September is National School Attendance Month - Parents, so today, we are sending a home information about attendance. According to the state, if a students misses 10% of a school year or about 2 days a month, they are considered "Chronically Absent." Please take a look at the information being sent home and help us keep students in school.

Attached is information about registering for the ACT. Generally I recommend that students take the ACT in the spring of their junior year and the fall of their senior year. Some students only take it once and some choose to take it multiple times. Please come in and talk to me if you have questions. We are beginning the ACT Prep class this week. Most of the juniors and sophomores are in this class. Parents, please encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity to increase their ACT score. ACT Prep is an online course that gives students practice questions and tests and covers the concepts tested on the ACT. It takes hard work and time to achieve significant results. The State has paid for all juniors to take the ACT on February 25th during the school day.
