The first and second grade students didn’t let the rain stop them from having fun at their field day this morning. Mr. Haist put together some fun running events, balloon relays, tug of war, and other games. Thanks to the PTO for giving the children a snack and the Linn United Bank for supplying the water bottles.

We have summer job opportunities available for high schoolers! There are a variety of full-time, part-time and PRN jobs available at Clay County Medical Center that would be perfect jobs for students over the summer or even as ongoing part-time positions during the school year. (PRN means you would work as needed, depending on our regular staff schedule.) We’re looking for students who are 16 years old or older. Any of these jobs would get you into the hospital and would be great for your resume as you pursue a career in healthcare. Or even if you aren’t going to go into a medical field, these are good part-time jobs for students in general. Following are areas where we have jobs available: Summer radiology aide - 40 hours per week, great experience and great pay for a summer job. Great for your resume if you want to make it through the very selective process of getting into radiology school! Environmental services Part-time and PRN jobs available in the housekeeping and laundry departments. Registration PRN positions available as well as two regular relief positions available. Regular Relief consists of one to two weeknights from 4-10 p.m. and every other weekend either from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 2:30-10 p.m. in the ER/Walk-In Clinic. To apply for any position, go to the CCMC website’s career page and fill out an electronic application under one of the jobs that interests you. http://www.ccmcks.org/currentjobopenings.php

Linn Booster Club is asking for help with the Linn Picnic this summer. The volunteer hours would count towards the community service award through the school program. To encourage the kids to help to show their appreciation back to the community through the donations that help with expenses to National FCCLA and FBLA programs and the scholarships that are given out to the senior class. It would be 2 hour shifts either helping with the jumping rides or working in the concession stand. Every shift also comes with a free sandwich and drink to show our appreciation for working. This year the picnic is set for July 12 and 13th. If interested in signing up for a shift please contact Jenna Oehmke at 785-541-0483.
