December/January Counselor Newsletter

We would like to reinforce the standard of care for our kids that are not feeling well. We have had a large amount of kids that have come to school and after being seen by the school nurse, have been sent home with high temperatures, sore throats, coughing, stomach aches and vomiting. If your child is having any symptoms please keep them home until they are symptom free for 24 hours without the use of any medications. There is a lot of Influenza, Strep throat and some Covid cases going around so if your child is complaining of a bad sore throat or is running a fever for more than 24 hours please consider taking them to the doctor. If you do this please contact Jeri at jtegtmeier@usd223.org so she knows what the diagnosis is and when the student may return to school. Our goal is to have kids in school, but when they are sick they can't focus and they are potentially spreading the germs/viruses/bacteria to other students and staff members.

We are in need of volunteers to help work gate on Saturday. Currently we are needing help from 2:30-4:00, 4:00-5:30-5:30-Start of boys Championship (around 7:30). We can split the final shift in two if needed. Currently our girls will be playing at 3:00 and the boys in the final game at 7:30. Thank you to those who have already offered help. Please let Coach Kuhlman know if you are willing to help. Thanks.
