Linn and Hanover High Schools are participating in Global UP Americas Virtual Exchange Program this semester. This program strives to enhance global competence and equips educators with the tools necessary to develop key 21st century skills in their students to connect and collaborate with people from around the world to build a brighter future. Our Spanish 2 students are paired up with a classroom from Colombia who are learning English. The students, and teachers, complete a rigorous global competency training program through a series of interactive modules with live sessions with the partner classroom. We have just completed our third live session and have enjoyed learning about each other's definitions of culture, identity, and perspective.

NEK-CAP, Inc. is now taking applications for the Filling the Gap Program in preparation for this summer! Attached is an informational brochure detailing this summer food assistance program for youth (ages 1-18) in low-income households (i.e., at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines). In Washington County, we’re funded by Konza United Way and partner with Courtland’s Depot Market. We distribute these meals as weekly home deliveries to participating youth. The food is free, nutritious, and shelf-stable! Items are intended to cover breakfast and lunch for a combination of weekdays and weekends throughout the summer. This year, the application process can either be done online (at https://www.nekcap.org/menus/family-community-resources.html) or over the phone (785-547-7136). Required documents include the head of household’s ID/driver’s license and proof of household income. Sign-up slots are limited and the deadline to apply and turn in all required documents is Saturday, April 6th, as we will be taking applications at the Hanover Community Health Fair.

Tonight's JH Track Parent meeting will begin a little earlier around 5:15 instead of 5:30. I know most of you will be picking kids up between 5-5:15, so don't want you to wait around any longer than needed. If you are unable to make it tonight but want the information we will go over, please contact Coach Kuhlman. Thanks.
