The first graders have been learning about owls! Today we dissected sterilized owl pellets. The students broke the pellets apart and found the various bones of different animals that they eat such as moles, voles, rats, mice, and birds. We had an animal bones identification sheet that we used to identify the bones we found. When we were finished, the students were able to take some of the bones home to show their families. The students really seemed to enjoy this activity!
